How To Get Started -
The Living Trust Process
Make An Appointment
- If you have not already done so, call and make an appointment to meet with the attorney. Call Bill Wais directly at (818) 244-1894 to set up the appointment.
Watch The DVD
- Watch Estate Planning DVD entitled "How To Disinherit The IRS".
Bring Property Tax Bill To First Meeting
- Bring Property Tax Bill (and Deed) to first meeting with Attorney Bill Wais. (If you can't find this your attorney can obtain the information required online).
- The meeting lasts about 60-90 minutes.
- The goals for the meeting are: education, making choices & discussing real estate.
- Ask questions as they come up during the meeting.
- Pay first half of the legal fee.
Schedule Second Meeting
- Schedule final signing meeting for about five weeks later.
Review Draft Documents
- Review draft documents when they come in the mail (usually takes about a week). Read Section #1 first "Frequently Asked Questions".
- Call Attorney Bill Wais with changes and corrections. Save your questions for the next face to face meeting with your attorney.
Final Meeting
- Bring your driver's license with you for the final meeting (signing ceremony).
- Ask questions face to face.
- Sign final documents at Attorney Bill Wais' office.
- Put your home and all other real estate into your Living Trust.
- Discuss putting all other financial assets into your Living Trust.
- Pay final half of legal fee.
